I don't know about where you live but here, in my corner of Maryland, today is the first day of school. Today all 3 of my kids went off to their first day of third grade, eleventh grade, and sophomore year of college. In honor of this most wonderful time of the year, and as a way of wishing them success, I put together a little song, to the tune of Do You Want to Build a Snowman. Feel free to sing it to your students as they get ready to start the new year!
Are you ready for the first day
Of a brand new year of school?
You will see old friends
And you'll make new friends
It'll be so cool!
You'll have match class
And ELA
And recess and lunchtime too!
